Terms of Use
Rules for using SafeWordHub responsibly, lawfully, and with clear consent.
Overview
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of SafeWordHub, including our website, APIs, and progressive web application (collectively, the "Service"). In these Terms, "SafeWordHub," "we," "our," and "us" refer to the SafeWordHub service and the team operating it. By creating an account, accessing the Service, or continuing to use it, you agree to these Terms.
SafeWordHub is a private, consent-focused platform intended to help consenting adults manage relationship structure, tasks, communication, journaling, scheduling, and related personal content. It is not an emergency service, medical service, legal service, or law-enforcement reporting platform.
1. Eligibility and Adult Use
You must be at least 18 years old to use SafeWordHub. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- Your use of the Service is lawful where you live.
- You will not allow any minor to access your account or content stored in the Service.
If we believe an account is associated with a minor, we may suspend or permanently remove the account and related content without notice.
2. Consent, Safety, and Lawful Conduct
SafeWordHub is built around informed, revocable, adult consent. You may use the Service only for lawful, consensual activity. You agree that you will not use the Service to:
- Promote, depict, facilitate, or threaten non-consensual activity.
- Harass, exploit, coerce, stalk, intimidate, or blackmail another person.
- Share or request child sexual abuse material, exploitative content, or any content involving minors.
- Traffic, solicit, or coordinate illegal services or criminal activity.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, or authority.
- Use the Service to force participation in a relationship, dynamic, or task.
You remain solely responsible for your real-world conduct, decisions, relationships, and safety planning. SafeWordHub provides organizational tools only. The Service does not validate that any task, instruction, protocol, or interaction is safe, lawful, or appropriate for you.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining accurate registration information and protecting your account credentials. You agree to:
- Provide truthful account information, including your age eligibility.
- Keep your password and any authentication tokens confidential.
- Use only your own account unless we explicitly authorize otherwise.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access, credential compromise, or abuse.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures. We may suspend or lock accounts when we detect suspicious activity, repeated failed logins, abuse patterns, or security risk.
4. Connections, Roles, and Shared Access
The Service may allow users to create connections with a partner and share tasks, journals, chat, proof submissions, consent records, and calendar items within that connection. When you enter an active connection, certain information becomes visible to the connected partner as part of the feature design.
You understand and agree that:
- Role labels such as Dom and Sub describe product functionality and do not create legal authority over another person.
- Each user remains independently responsible for their own decisions and conduct.
- Ending a connection may limit future access but may not instantly erase all shared records needed for operational integrity, audit, abuse review, or lawful retention.
5. User Content and Responsibility
You retain responsibility for all content you upload, submit, send, publish, or store through SafeWordHub, including messages, journals, fantasy content, support requests, photos, videos, and task proof. You represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it.
- The content does not violate any law, third-party right, or these Terms.
- The content does not include minors, non-consensual material, or prohibited exploitative content.
- The content is not defamatory, fraudulent, malicious, or intended to cause harm.
You grant SafeWordHub a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your content only as needed to operate, secure, back up, moderate, and improve the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Prohibited Content
You may not upload, submit, or transmit content that includes or promotes:
- Any person under 18 years old.
- Non-consensual sexual content or coercive exploitation.
- Sex trafficking, prostitution where prohibited by law, or illegal sexual services.
- Violence for its own sake, torture, or threats of serious bodily harm.
- Doxxing, private personal data of third parties, or revenge content.
- Malware, phishing material, spam, or code intended to disrupt the Service.
We may remove content, restrict access, preserve evidence, and report material to appropriate authorities where required by law or where necessary to protect users and the public.
7. Task Proof, Media, and Verification Features
SafeWordHub may support proof-of-completion features such as text responses, photos, videos, live photo, live video, GPS check-ins, and related metadata validation. These features are provided for organizational and accountability purposes within the platform.
You agree that:
- You will submit only authentic proof that reflects your actual participation.
- You will not attempt to bypass proof validation, spoof metadata, or submit manipulated evidence.
- We may process timestamps, device information, file metadata, duration, and location coordinates to validate proof and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Proof acceptance, rejection, or review outcomes within a connection are determined by product rules and partner actions, not by any guarantee from SafeWordHub that a submission is truthful or sufficient for any external purpose.
8. Acceptable Technical Use
You agree not to interfere with or misuse the Service. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, APIs, admin tools, or infrastructure.
- Probe, scan, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Service beyond normal permitted use.
- Upload malicious files or abuse storage, chat, proof, or support channels.
- Bypass feature restrictions, account limits, rate limits, or membership controls.
- Use bots or automation in ways that degrade service integrity or fairness.
9. Membership Tiers and Feature Access
SafeWordHub may offer multiple membership tiers and feature entitlements. Features can vary by account, invitation, connection status, or tier. We may change, add, remove, or limit features at any time for operational, security, or product reasons.
Unless we explicitly state otherwise in a separate billing agreement, no specific feature, storage quota, or availability level is guaranteed for any indefinite period.
10. Intellectual Property
SafeWordHub and its software, design, branding, text, interfaces, and non-user content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the Service for its intended personal purpose. You may not copy, resell, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect your information. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict on a privacy-specific topic, the Privacy Policy controls for that topic.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation at all times. Maintenance, upgrades, security responses, outages, network failures, or provider issues may affect availability.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including features, storage rules, integrations, or account workflows.
13. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, deactivate, or terminate your account immediately if we reasonably believe that:
- You violated these Terms, our policies, or applicable law.
- Your account presents a security risk or abuse risk.
- Your content or conduct could expose users, third parties, or SafeWordHub to harm or liability.
- We are required to do so by law enforcement, legal process, or regulatory obligation.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion and data handling are governed by our Privacy Policy and operational retention requirements.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.
SafeWordHub does not provide medical, mental health, legal, relationship, or crisis-intervention advice. Content, tasks, protocols, and guidance generated by users are their responsibility alone.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SafeWordHub and the people or service providers acting on its behalf will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) $50 USD.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SafeWordHub and the people or service providers acting on its behalf from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to your content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise. You agree that disputes relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law provides a different forum.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may notify you by posting an updated version, updating the effective date, emailing registered users, or requiring acknowledgment in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms become effective means you accept them.
